WHOThe Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) isleading the effort to develop an environmental studyand is working cooperatively with the Federal RailroadAdministration (FRA) to examine a proposal to providehigh-speed and express passenger rail between Dallasand Fort Worth.

WHATThis plan will identify opportunities to invest in high-speed and express passenger rail between Dallas andFort Worth. The study will include the development of:

a reasonable number of alternativesan evaluation of any environmental impactsa recommended alignment & station locations

This effort is part of a larger high-speed and express railsystem planned for Texas and would provide a keylinkage to the Texas system and regional transportationnetworks.

WHERE

WHYThe proposed route would connect the cities of Dallasand Fort Worth. The study will evaluate the alternativealignments as well as alternative station andmaintenance facility locations. This study will notidentify a recommended or preferred rail vehicle ortechnology for the corridor.
