These schools will receive professional development for efficient data-driven problem-solving and for utilizing evidence-based tiered interventions toaddress social-emotional concerns.
2.
Schools participating in professional development providedthrough VTSS and PBIS will develop and implement evidence- based supports for addressing social-emotional concerns that willserve as models as we scale-up for implementation of tieredsupports in other Fauquier County Public Schools.
3.
By 2017, all FCPS schools, as a minimum for tiered support forsocial-emotional concerns, will implement evidence-basedstructured coaching with progress monitoring as a tiered supportutilizing an evidence-based model (e.g.: Check-in/Check-Out orCheck-and-Connect).
4.
By 2020, all FCPS schools will implement evidence-based tieredsupports for social skills and self-management.
Social-emotional skills include demonstrating respect, responsibility,
pro-social problem-solving, self-management and self-directedlearning skills. Social-emotional concerns include critical issuesmentioned in character education such as student absenteeism, anxiety,self-harm, negative peer interactions, discipline problems, drug abuse,underdeveloped problem-solving, ineffective conflict resolution, and poor academic performance.
