March PDM About the Presentation:
Title
Defense Spending Effect on the United States:
How does Defense Spending affect the Economy
and Health of the State?
Presented By:
John Callender
Outline
Based on the amount of time the United
States has spent in war, we question whether or
not the money spent in war is profitable for the
country. We will cover the amount of defense
spending throughout the years based on state of
war and see how it affected the economy and
health of the state. We will then discuss what
the data suggested and the ramifications of
those outcomes.

Data Analyst in Treasury at Snap‐on
Incorporated who specializes in integration of
information technology into business processes

Engineering Command (NAVFAC). Currently, he
is pursuing IT consulting and a new venture to

President’s Message As I mentioned last month, our own Great Lakes District of APICS will be hosting its 19th annual Student Case Competition on February 21 and 22. We have 24 teams (our limit) already signed up and ready to participate. It is a busy and fun-packed weekend for the student competitors and for the professional members that attend. I am looking forward to it. The winning team will represent our district at the International APICS Conference in New Orleans in October. APICS hopes to have a team from every district competing.
There is no meeting this month, but we hope to see you in March. We will be having presentations from grad students and their professors at U W Parkside. Are you interested in having a student as an intern? You can find out more at the meeting on that also.
Our CSCP certification class is running currently (when the snow/cold does not close the school!). Speaking of which, I would like to share a short poem I received.
WISCONSIN POEM
It’s winter in Wisconsin
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour At twenty five below.
Oh, how I love Wisconsin
When the snow’s up to your butt

You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful So I guess I’ll hang around
I could never leave Wisconsin
‘Cause I’m frozen to the ground. See you in March!
