We Care..

Responding toGod’s love

in service to others

Canadian Lutheran World Relief est. 1946

“For the first time in the annals of Lutheranism in Canada we worked together in a common project. Barriers which had kept us apart were set aside in our love to save the lives of our brethren across the sea.”

-Dr. Rex Schneider, First President of CLWR

For over 40 years members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in River Hills MB have created quilts for CLWR. Some members have constructed thousands of quilts in their lifetime.

The Sunday school at St. John’s in Ottawa commemorated the church’s 115th anniversary by assembling 1,150 We Care kits!

In Naicam Saskatchewan members of Immanuel Lutheran Church display their wares. Their quilting group also includes members of local Catholic and United churches.

Women in Mauritania receive colourful quilts from Canada distributed as part of a flood relief initiative by the Lutheran World Federation.
