Ladies Auxiliary Corner - Wendy Luzader, President
We have several officers that will be stepping down when
their term ends at our May meeting. The future of our
Auxiliary depends on others that are willing to step up
and become an officer. The new slate of officers can
determine what projects/dinners/activities they wish to
continue or add. Are you willing to keep our Auxiliary
active and fill one of the required positions? Nominations continue with our April and May meetings;
after the final nomination at our May meeting, we will
immediately hold the election. Your vote is important
and counts, if you wish to hold an office, you MUST
attend the next 2 meetings.
We are winding down our current projects:
If you have any donations (can tabs, manufacturer’s
coupons, greeting card fronts, RX bottles, plastic caps,
etc.), we need them brought to the Post immediately. This
will give us time to complete our Activity Reports to
Department and complete these projects.
We will not be having a first Saturday dinner in April.
We will have 1 more breakfast, the first Sunday in April.
We will again host our Easter feast at the Post on April
16th from Noon til 2 PM. Our Adult Easter Egg Hunt will
begin immediately following the dinner. We will have
turkey and ham and are asking for side dishes and
desserts, please bring them in disposable containers.
My 3rd year as local President is coming to an end; I
would like to say thank you to our Post for their constant
support of our Auxiliary. A deep heartfelt ‘Thank You’
to my Officers and ladies: you have been my inspiration
and my support…we could not have accomplished the
many projects we have completed in these 3 years without
YOU! I will still be around and will assist our new
officers when they need me. Love you my friends!
Yours in Service,
Wendy Luzader, President
COMMANDER’S MESSAGE-Kenny Spillers, Commander
I want to remind everyone that nominations for
officers of the post will be conducted at this month
and next months’ meetings. If you would like to be
an officer of the post or if you would like to nominate
someone please attend these meetings. Kenny Spillers Commander
AMVETS Sons
Nominations will continue at our April and May meeting,
with election immediately following the nominations in
May. We need all members to attend these 2 important
meetings. If you are being nominated, you MUST attend
these 2 meetings.
Thank you to the Sons for putting on another great
Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner, thank you to those who
purchased a meal. All proceeds go to our Veteran’s
projects.
Thank you to the Ladies who provided a wide variety of
homemade desserts for this meal.
A special Thank You to Al and Shirley Krueger for all of
their assistance; they consistently support and assist all
Post activities. Shirley always makes amazing homemade
desserts that everyone enjoys. They will be leaving soon to
go back up North, we wish them safe travels and hurry
back!
For God and country,
Allen Luzader, Commander

The canteen is still doing well and we are trying to schedule more events now that spring is here. We donated the back bar to Amvets Post 86 in Keystone Heights and it has given us more room in the Meeting/Dining room. We need more Amvets to step up and become Trustees. If you can only donate 1 hour each week it would be a tremendous help.
God Bless,
Pat Plemmons, Trustee Chairman
