This year I was honored to have a 16 week sabbatical from my work at ACCA, thanks to the Rasmuson Foundation Sabbatical Pro-gram. I took this time to travel and connect with family and am extremely grateful to the staff at ACCA for covering my job duties. Af-
ter returning from this sabbatical I can see ACCA through fresh eyes. Thank you ACCA and Rasmuson!
This past year ACCA began work on two challenging multi-year projects. We have begun the process of accreditation through the Council on Accreditation (COA), in order to ensure that our ser-vices meet the highest standards of excellence. The Infant Learn-ing Program is implementing an Electronic Medical Record so that we can streamline documentation and provide the best qual-ity services. Both these projects are challenging us to be flexible as we do our work in new ways. With continuous reflection and growth we are Reaching for the Stars!
Warm Regards,

Infant Learning Program (ILP)ILP provides evaluation and intervention services for children ages birth to 3 years who experience developmental delays and disabilities. Our program model emphasizes working as partners with families to support their child’s learning in everyday routines and activities in home and community settings.
Early Childhood Mental Health (ECMH)The Early Childhood Mental Health Program is focused on sup-porting children ages birth to 5 who experience social/emotional concerns. We focus on building capacity of mental health profes-sionals in the Fairbanks community, teaching childcare providers to support children’s social/emotional well-being, and helping families of children who experience social/emotional concerns connect with community based supports.
FACES Team (Fetal Alcohol Community Evaluation Services)The FACES Team provides FAS diagnosis to children ages 3 to 14 years from around the Interior and Northern regions of Alaska. In addition to diagnosing FASD, we provide social opportunities, ad-vocacy, training, and parent support.
Loan ClosetLoan Closet provides short term loan of adaptive medical equip-ment such as crutches and wheelchairs to people in our commu-nity. A refundable deposit and cleaning fee is required. Loan Clos-et focuses primarily on mobility related equipment to help individuals live a more independent life.
Speech ClinicSpeech Clinic provides Speech/Language Pathology services for adults. Speech Clinic is focused on encouraging functional com-munication in daily living situations. Our model supports individ-uals in meeting their own goals in life by helping them find strate-gies for managing and completing tasks.

ACCA was excited to be a partner with Sunris-ers Rotary Club in the development of an acces-sible playground in the South Davis Park. ACCA received funding from the Rasmuson Founda-tion to purchase Foreverlawn playground grass and safety base for the park. The park opened in September 2016. Many thanks to Sunrisers for inviting us to partner on this project!
