•It can effect anyone on the planet•Minimal exposure can cause respiratory
and inflammatory problems•Severe exposure can cause heart disease
and cancer•It can also cause damage to animals and
plants
Canada Emissions•737 million tons every year•By 2020, this number should decrease by
17 percent.•The UN says it will go up to 815 million
tons•The Ontario coal-fired plant is the main
cause of this

Cancer Villages in China
•Cancer villages are areas that have high rates of air pollution and causes many types of cancers.
•Over 100 in China•Located near factories•The percentage of cancer villages has risen
by eighty percent.• Is now the leading death in China•Half the water in China is unfit for human
contact because it is too toxic.
Specific Story
•Three month old Xie Yuling was diagnosed with a rare cancer in his village
•He died weeks later because the treatments were not working for him
•His father knew the problem was the high levels of pollution in their village
•This problem eventually went to court. The village sued the factories. They only got paid eleven dollars each.
