Air Masses

• Source Regions Areas in which air masses originate.

• The conditions experienced in an area as an air mass passes over it. Air masses pass over large areas and because they are relatively homogeneous, these conditions may last for days.

• Source Region: Where the air mass originates.• Polar (P) • Arctic (A)• There is very little difference between these

two. It usually has to do with a difference in coldness.
