Agustín LombroniWinemaker, Del Rio Elorza (Verum) Winery

Agustín Lombroni is the first nativewinemaker from Patagonia Argentina. Hestudied at Don Bosco University in Mendozaand started in the wine industry at 18years-old working in Bodega La Rural withwell-known Argentine winemaker Mariano DiPaola. He traveled to New Zealand to workat Villa Maria Estate, one of the mostimportant wine groups in that country. Healso worked at Columbia Crest (#1 WineSpectator Top 100 of 2009) with JuanMuñoz Oca, head-winemaker of thecompany. For two years he served assecond winemaker in Barrancas SA inMendoza.

After working in different terroirs inMendoza and other countries, Agustínreturned to his beloved native Patagonia,and at 27, in 2012 took the wine directionof Bodega Del Rio Elorza, implementingtheir knowledge in the Patagonian terroirwith the counseling of Alberto Antonini andMariano Vignoni.

Bodega Del Rio Elorza (Verum) is one of the winery jewels of Alto Valle de RioNegro and produces one of the very top Chardonnays in Argentina (90 points WineAdvocate); a best value Malbec (91 points Wine & Spirits); a stunning MalbecReserve (91 points Wine Enthusiast); and a classic Pinot Noir (95 points WilfredWong). Each of these wines is a true example of its Patagonian terroir.
