The RapidPanel Slab is composed of a framework of high

strength steel wire (1000 MPa), which works with a 50-75mm

layer of 20 MPa concrete placed on the top of the panel to resist

slab loads much higher than conventional slabs while

reducing cost and simplifying installation.

During panel fabrication, high density expanded polystyrene

(EPS) is inserted into the steel wire framework. This inert and

non-toxic material acts as a lightweight filler, making the

QualyPanel Slab less than half the weight of conventional

slabs.

Panels are manufactured in fixed sizes, but can be cut

to any dimension in the factory or on site, per the

project requirement.

EPS is removed at connections with structural

elements to guarantee proper load transfer. The

EPS does not act as a structural material, only

as a filler.

The RapidPanel Slab does not require

conventional shuttering/centering/formwork, as

the EPS filler acts in this capacity. Horizontal

runners supported by vertical props are provided

at a spacing of 900mm until the concrete layer

hardens.

Typically a camber is provided at midspan to

control long term deflection of the slab.

Utilities including electrical conduits and fixtures, water supply pipes,

and waste pipes up to 100mm in diameter can be concealed within

the panel without the need for chasing or dropped slabs. Future

modifications can be made by removing the plaster on bottom of the

panel in the required area, making the modification, and

replastering.

RapidPanel Slabs can be integrated into existing RCC designs,

typically without any change. Alternatively, integrating the slab

panel into structural design can realize significant savings in the

RCC frame due to the reduced building weight.

RapidPanel walls make for an extremely lightweight

partition wall system in RCC framed structures or even

using Structural steel framework systems. Reducing

wall weight by half vs. brickwork, steel and concrete

quantities are reduced and foundations can be placed

at a higher level. Fast construction means quick

finishing times.

RapidPanels make for extremely high strength load-bearing walls, allowing very fast

and economical construction of villas and low-cost housing. The need for the RCC

frame is eliminated, as is the need for lintels, bar bending, shuttering, and brickwork.

Openings are easily provided in the panel for doors and windows without heavy

equipment. Utilities can be concealed within the wall without the need for messy and

costly chasing.

The final product is indistinguishable from

conventional construction and has a clean

finish. Thinner walls mean more carpet

area, but the EPS infill blocks sound,

meaning the sound transmission is just as

good as conventional brickwork.

Seismic Design

Load-bearing panel wall system acts as a continuous shear wall system. It is analyzed per box action, and

additional vertical rebars are attached to the panels according to lateral analysis calculations.

Load-bearing/shear wall panel systems have been used for structures up to G+5 in high seismic risk

areas (Zone V equivalent) with poor soil conditions to provide an economical and robust structure that

meets code seismic design requirements.
