Breaking Session was introduced where students of different
cultures were brought together, sharing each other’s views while
getting to know each other. Firstly, a photography session was
conducted to lighten up the mood and make students more
involved. This helped them to identify the creative talents of the
students and to help the students identify and admire the beauty
they see around.
Trekking was planned on Shiva Ganga Hills to observe nature, rural
communities and spectacular mountain panoramas. This event
helped the students to socialise more and made them understand
the importance of social contacts.
A small trip was arranged to Akshaya Patra to see how the NGO
works and to make the students aware about the value of food and
how it reaches to the needy, which inspired the younger minds and
was a small beginning to make valuable changes. Another
refreshing event was brought forward called “BRAND
BENGALURU” which gave an opportunity for the students to
explore the Garden City.
A more of a professional class too over which helped in developing

programme prepared them for the hardships that were to come in the near future.
KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS
Bengaluru: july 05, 2018 The IFIM Institution had celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas in the college
campus with 100+ students along with the volunteers from YUVA BRIGADE also accompied in
order to enlighten the essence of the Kargil war.
The event took place in college auditorium in the morning around 9, in the presence of prof.
Venkatesh who was a dissident person for that event . The session started with brief introduction
of Kargil war by prof.venketesh and it further continued by Mr.Sumukh Betageri who is an active
volunteer of YUVA BRIGADE. Sumukh started explaing about Kargil war and he even mentioned a
few brave soldiers; captin Vikram Batra , Yogendra Singh Yadav many more.
Mr. Sumukh started his speech with a very basic information about soldiers and how they spend their
time without basic needs and it
continued upto the Kargil war.
Pindrop silence occupied the
whole auditorium when Mr.
Sumukh mentioned the great
warrior: Yogendra Singh Yadav,
who was a prolific figure in the
Kargil war. The glimpse that he
explained about his journey in
Kargil made all the students moist
eyed.
The crowd didn't utter a single
word till the end of the program
which shows how enthusiastic
speech that was.
As soon as the speech came to an end students were shocked as they had spent one whole hour
listening to the tremendous speech, they stood up and clapped with a roar in unison for that
stupendous speech and later some of them shared their views about the war and their favorite
warriors. The one line out of his whole speech ; "You do whatever you want to do but, remember that
you are from INDIA.", pierced the students minds and they were motivated by those effective words.
Soon after completion of the speech by sumukh, Mr. Amar shared some information about how Kargil
Vijay Diwas celebrated all over the Karnataka so far. Further he encouraged students to take part in
celebration of Kargil Vijay Diwas by providing their insights to Yuva Brigade. In addition to that prof.
Venkatesh concluded the session by thanking both the speakers and enraging the young students,
impelling them to contemplate their ways of life.
A Memorable Trek
People all over the world sign up for many adventurous sports and loads of outdoor activities. In
all of this mayhem, the true beauty of an uphill trek has been vastly underrated. And to show just
how wonderful and satisfying it can be, IFIM College took up the initiative of sending the bright,
young and energetic UG Freshmen for an uphill trek to Shivaganga Hills, near Tumkur district,
which is about 70 kms away from the college, as a part of the orientation program.
There were roughly about 160 students who participated in this trek. To transport these lads to
the spot, 4 buses had been arranged. Upon reaching, breakfast was provided to all the students
and faculty who had tagged along. And then the group set out to start for the real reason that they
had come so far.
Everyone started off the trek at around 9:30 A.M, climbing at an impressive pace. The total
distance needed to be covered, to reach the top, was around 2 km. After around 1 and a half
kilometers, many students dropped out, exhausted due to exertion, and chose to rest and relax at
the Shiva Parvathy temple. At the same time, the challenge posed itself for those who chose to go
on, determined to reach the top, as the hill started to become steeper and the trek, more
strenuous.
Finally, of the whole group that had started out at the base, about 60-70% of them made it to the
top. They were awestruck by the beautiful view, and were mesmerized by the surroundings. They
were captivated by nature’s touch, and were in a state of trance, especially after the tiring trek up
the hill. It was a wonderful, and a kind of - first time experience, as could be seen in their eyes.
The successful group stayed up for half an hour, and then, having satisfied their sights and minds,
began their descent back to the base camp. They touched the camp at the foothills at around 1:30
P.M, where they were provided with lunch.
And as they say, all good things must come to an end. Hence, post – lunch, the group started its
journey back to the campus. All in all, everyone had a wonderful time, and it was an experience
that none would ever forget, as this was just the start of many more bonding experiences yet to
come, where many friendships and bonds were formed. To put it in a nutshell, it truly was A
Memorable Trek.

Ethnic day 2k18
Bengaluru: On 19 Sept, IFIM College hosted ethnic day in order to glorify the richness of sundry
traditions. The main event took place in IFIM College, Electronic city. Various activities
associating largely to the
traditions of the country
were organized. Students
were encouraged to
actively participate in all
the events and also, to
spread cheerful vibes, be
it from their resplendent
costumes or their
traditional conducts.
At around 10 am, students started swarming inside the college, flashing their outfits and of course,
their lovely smiles. Students left no stone unturned in their quest to capture the moments in their
cameras, whereas, a few of them were ardently decorating the stage. Various activities were
conducted, along with which a few friendly competitions, in order to keep everyone’s spirits high.
Interestingly, students were also seen setting up their own food stalls, providing delicious food and
cool drinks, satiating everyone’s hunger and quenching everyone’s thirst. The main event started
at 12:30 pm in the college premise, at the amphitheater where all the cultural activities; singing,
dance, live band performances…to name a few, were held. Mr. Pruthviraj Kulkarni hosted the
program and walked the audience members through what promised to be an extraordinary show.
Among all the other activities, ‘Ramp Walk’ was the main attraction of the ethnic day. Girls, draped
in glistening sarees, lehengas and ghagras, boys looking dapper in sherwanis, kurta-pyjamas, while
a few chose to drape a rustic ‘mundu’ or a ‘veshti’, hence, it would only be fair if they were given
an opportunity to enthusiastically walk the ramp, describe their outfits and the tradition they
represented. The judges of the ramp walk event were, Pf. Swarnika Dikshit, Pf. Asif Ali and Pf.
Reena Chopra. Ramp walk proved to be
quite the eye catching event, as it paved
way for every student to walk up before
a crowd, speak their heart out, much to
everyone’s delight. Mr.Rikhil kuttappa
(BA) and Ms.Abhilasha Rathod (BBA),
were crowned Mr. and Miss. Ethnic,
presumably because of their rather too
embellished representation in
comparison to the rest or we might just
want to lean on the judgment of our
esteemed judges, for they had the best
seats in the house.
What really piqued everybody was the unity that students seemed to have established in the
diversity.
‘Unity in diversity’ was the theme that the event encompassed. No matter how different everyone
looked, thanks to their traditional attires, there was a strong sense of unity that exuded from the
word go and that itself served the purpose of this wonderful event.
The curtains dropped at around 5 pm, with a quintessential commemoration of the winners of
various events and acknowledgment of the efforts of each and every individual, from students to
who had arduously put this show together. Professor. Reena chopra, under whose supervision the
event was put together, was given a special vote of thanks. DJ
spinned some good dance numbers in the end for everyone to let
their hair down, but the event wouldn’t end without a tinge of
twist, as the mighty clouds showered down, but only to enhance
the fun quo.professors,
A ramp to behold the fashion
Neon lights flooded the ramp as the 8th Edition of the Deccan
Herald Metrolife Fashion Show at the NMKRV College for Women
was ready to fuel the audience with a show of some of the most extraordinary fashion senses of
college students across Bengaluru.
Each college represented its own unique mindset and fashion appeal, which ranged from a
variety of themes from Indian Ethnicity and Royalty to modern contemporary styles and also, a
fusion of Indian and Western. Some very unique styles were presented too, like an Art Gallery
theme, Egyptian theme and Recycled Fashion among others. This created a very dense aura of
aesthetic appeal among the audience and the judges, and the encore was only increased when the
touch of glamour with music produced great results. The auditorium was filled with audience who
were very enthusiastic and excited
at seeing the diverse array of
Fashion themes laid out in front of
them, and they only applauded
and encouraged the participants
to do more, to which the
participants gladly did so. The
Fashion Fiestas on stage decorated
themselves with appliques and
epaulettes, and showcased themselves as the audience watched them with awe and admiration
as they burst into applause and aplomb after every display, including their confident walks and
graceful postures. Among these wonderful participants, were the students of IFIM College, ranging
from BA to BBA to B.Com among others, and from the First Year students to the Fifth Year students.
Spread out into two teams, they all put up amazing displays and performances, which included the
themes of Indian-Western Ballroom Bridal Fusion and also the theme of Greek Gods with a modern
touch, where they represented the Five Elements of nature – Fire, Water, Air, Earth and Thunder.
But ultimately, in every competition, where there are winners, there are losers too. A few other
colleges just seemed to be better prepared and ideological, as they bagged the top five spots to
advance into the Grand Finale. Surana College bagged the top position, followed by the Oxford
College of Engineering, Jain College VV Puram, KLE College and Jain College Jayanagar for the
second, third, fourth and fifth places respectively, leaving the other teams to try their luck in the
next edition of the Deccan Herald Metrolife Fashion Show. All all, it was a well-organized event,
and was filled with dazzling performances by all the participants, and gave the judges a very hard
time to decide the best five out of the twenty three
present college teams. In a nutshell, it was a day to behold, for everybody.
