the project required a complete home renovation. primarily focused on a custom staircase and kitchen design. through 3d modeling and analysis the client and i designed a one of a kind staircase for the family that spoke to their material wishes and safety precautions while simultaneously opening up the space. drafting construction documents i was able to design and have the stair built along with a custom kitchen that allowed for optimal seating and functionality.

undergraduate work.earl prize nominee.post-conflict somalia studio project
[omni]phemeralin a post conflict somalia it is time to look at the resources that are available and determine how to use them to the advantage of the existing structure. ultimately creating an opportunity for growth in a failing environment. the ideas of this project provide the begining stages of a possible future.
the primary site of this project dealt with dilapidated structures and spaces. in designated areas the market place forms with the start of a simple module. a rebar module can be simply formed and manipulated allowing for density growth and construction production. upon population growth and community build up, the amount of modular rebar increases simultaneously. as modular rebar’s increase in a given space they begin to form walls and columns. from there construction on the site begins and continues to grow all directions. the designated spot of a column or the creation of a wall isn’t necessarily pre-designed, but as time and the people of the space evolve so does the architecture that began with a modular design of rebar.

posters for salesometimes it is possible to explore different mediums in the working world of architecture. for instance, to travel specifically into the world of graphics. using technical skills in differnt medias, such as graphic design, expands the opportunity to better understand spacial relation and design.
taking chances to work outside the architecture studio developed my abilities and talents, allowing for further progression and understanding of graphics, cultivating a desire to produce work of a certain level. ultimately, bringing me to the realization of the passion i foster for the graphics of design and architecture.
