games to be a good form of exercise?
Active Video Games… •Playing active video games is not recommended as a way to help children/youth be more active.

• Do not increase your level of physical activity enough.
Active Video Games…
• Are often low intensity and only slightly increase your heart rate.
Active Video Games… • Do not provide fresh air, Vitamin
D and contact with nature as do outdoor activities, sports and games .
• Do not help much in getting your 60 minutes of required daily moderate to intense exercise.
Active Video Games… • Provide less opportunity to
interact with your friends and family.
• Do not help you develop skills as well as doing outdoor activities, sports and games do.
For Your Health • Be active everyday!
• Spend less time sitting and watching TV or playing video games.
• Replace playing video games with
playing outside, doing sports or other physical activities.
•Be active!
Play outside!
