Twitter Glossary
• RT = ReTweet; MT = Modified ReTweet• FF = Follow Friday suggestions; SO =
Shout Out (to)• LOL = Laughing Out Loud; LMFAO =
Laughing even more• Blue Tick = verified as the real person
(not an impersonator)• IMO = in my opinion• # used either to assist searching

• LCHF = Low Carb High Fat (LOL)
Social media Tips(from @DrJohnOrchard / www.johnorchard.com)
• DO join social media and get some expertise in it (or in 10 years time you might find yourself feeling like someone who doesn’t have a driver’s licence or can’t use Microsoft Excel).
• DO use different platforms for different purposes (e.g. Twitter for sharing links to good articles & papers and PUBLIC comment on issues; Facebook for personal matters; Instagram for posting photos; Linkedin for showing off your CV; Research Gate for showing off your publications)
• DON’T operate the machinery before you understand the safety manual, especially Twitter – walk (using Facebook) before you try running (Tweeting)
• Take your public comments very seriously but don’t take comments of others that seriously (see “Trolls”)
Conclusions
