Mission Conference

New Wilmington

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me . . .” Luke 4:18 2008 Theme Verse

NWMC- A Christian Mission Conference With An Emphasis On Youth 12-24

People from all over the U.S. and the world attend.

Held on the campus of Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA

NWMC It’s about…

• Turning young people on to what mission is really all about, in their schools, downtown, or across an ocean.

• Helping the church move out into the world.

• Jesus Christ making a difference in the world.

Here’s what people are saying…

I read about it in my church

bulletin and just decided to come.

I’ve been wanting to come to

something like this, I just

didn’t know about

NWMC.

I enjoyed being part of the choir most, learning a

song and performing it right away.

I started meeting new friends as soon as I arrived at the dorm.

“I have Conference friends all over the world. We share in a different way than with my friends back home.”

“In a world where there is so much to be done, I realized there must be something I can do.”

"NWMC gives us courage to attempt great things for God."

“It’s an opportunity to learn about what God is

doing in the world.”

“And that God can use us for His glory.”

"Conference has been the highlight of not only my summer but of my faith development. Most of the key events in my life

surround Conference itself, people I met at Conference, or a lesson I remember from Conference."

“We commit ourselves- one person, one voice, one vote at a time- to make a better, safer world for all.”

“I came for the first time with my two girls (Jr High and Kid’s program) and they were changed

by the NWMC experience. We’ll be back.”

“My counselor would drop

anything at any second to have

a heart-to-heart…”

Counselors and small groups are provided for delegates ages 12 to 24.

“We don’t go to Conference just to

be inspired…

…we go to have a great time.”

We eat in the

dining halls

Sleep in the college dorms

Enjoy the whole college campus

for a week

People of all ages are invited to NWMC and it adds to the special

opportunity created there.

But… the speakers and the special events are chosen for Junior and Senior High and Young Adults through age 24.

We gather twice a day to worship and hear great speakers.

Other activities are age specific.

There’s time to visit the mission fair

Learn about other cultures

And participate in service projects…

In 2007 delegates assembled

320 World Vision AIDS Caregiver Kits, 180 health care kits,

52 new baby kits for Covenant Hospital in

Haiti, 78 nursing home kits, and several

hundred craft gifts for missionaries to give in

outreach

We sometimes struggle with issues related

to our faith.

We fellowship with others in prayer,

study and worship.

Missionaries help us learn what God is doing in the world today

And about ways we can help.

The 2007 Summer Service Team spent 6 weeks in

Guatemala.

The 2008 team will be going to Malawi

Conference is also a time to make new friends or connect

with old ones.

A time for sports

Music

Drama

And, we enjoy lots of free time…

For fun activities

Or, just relaxing

Come as a Youth Group … or come by yourself.
