PREFACE
This material has been developed with the Learning Resource Management Development System – Schools Division Office of Apayao (LRMDS - SDO Apayao) and has been implemented
by the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) of the Department of Education, Cordillera Administrative Region, Schools Division Office of Apayao, Flora District, Flora Central School.

Si Juan at ang Kanyang Nanay Si Juan ay isang batang mahilig maglaro at pilyo.
“Nanay, maglalaro tayo,” sabi niya. “Marami
akong gagawin,” sagot ng nanay niya.
“Paglaruan ko nga ang nanay ko,” naisip niya.
Pumunta siya sa labas ng pintuan nila at kumatok.
Binuksan ng nanay niya ang pintuan, si Juan ang
nakita niya. “Pilyo ka,” pagalit na sinabi ng kanyang
nanay at bumalik na sa trabaho niya.
Maya-maya, may kumatok na naman.
“Pilyo ka talaga, antayin mo ako at papaluin kita,”
pagalit na sabi ng nanay niya.
Binuksan ng nanay niya ang pintuan na may
hawak-hawak na pamalo, pero natulala siya dahil
ang nasa labas ay si Maria na kumare niya at
tulalang-tulala dahil sa pamalo niya.
Nakita ni Juan kung paano napahiya ang nanay
niya, kaya naawa siya dito.
“Patawarin mo ako nanay, hindi na kita lolokohin
pa,” paumanhin ni Juan na yumakap sa ina.
