red Texas soil, atop one of the gentlyrolling hills that's characteristic of theland around Dallas. Landscaping ef

ding the new building located in theWalnut Hill Industrial Park.

A Word About Foghorn

If you're wondering where your February-March issue of the IndependentJournal is, wonder no more. You're holding it right in your hand. Only now it'sgot a new name—Foghorn. The name change came about as a result of theforming of the Field Operations Group, affectionately referred to as FOG. Thenew organization greatly expands the audience for whom this publication iswritten. BSD sales. OEM sales, LSS sales, communication sales, service, fieldcustomer service, and computer media sales reps are all part of FOG. Thename change is an acknowledgment of the new depth and breadth they bringto this audience.

There's the obvious reason for renaming the publication Foghorn. Butbeyond the obvious is the subtle. A foghorn is a loud, deep voice—a form ofcommunication carrying a message to inform, direct and encourage.

Thus is the purpose of this publication. It is to keep you, Memorexemployees, informed of the activities, objectives and accomplishments of theField Operations Group. We hope you find Foghorn an interesting, informativepublication and that you will look forward to receiving each issue.

The luncheon was part of theFebruary 3 activities planned tocelebrate the opening of the center.The day began with a meeting for allemployees and Charlie Splaine was intown for the occasion. "You can all be

proud of the opening of this center," hetold them. "Because of your hard workand dedication to increasing businessin the Southwest region we are able toestablish this new building. Itrepresents appreciation for your workand continued commitment to the

customers of the region."

Later that day the open house tookplace. With the furniture and plants inorder, pictures hung, and the ware-
