ADVANTAGESFire tube boilers is so easy to use, operate,

clean & maintain. Fire tube boilers can be used in small scale

industries. Fire tube boiler is relatively cheaper than

water tube boiler. Steam can be generated at very high

pressure in water tube boilers. Steam can be raised more quickly. Bursting of one or two tubes does not

affect the boilers very much. A good & rapid circulation of water can be

made.

• The efficiency of heat transfer is bad enough in fire tube boilers.

• Water treatment is very essential for water tube boilers.

• Maintenance cost is high.• The water level must be

watched very carefully during operation of a water tube boiler.

DISADVANTAGES

Boilers are basically used to generate steam for driving turbine to generate electricity, steam used for air conditioning system, driving steam engines.Some of the boilers used to run ships using super heated steam.Smaller boilers are used to generate power to run cars.
