The Birks Cinema Be Part of the Show
A Unique Opportunity
Thank you for your interest in The Birks Cinema… a unique entertainment venue providing opportunities to reach
a wide and varied audience – along with the value of association with a community venture with charitable
status. Your involvement will also make a real contribution to Highland Perthshire.
Advertising in the cinema programme guide and on-screen provide accessible and flexible promotional
opportunities for your enterprise. This guide gives an idea of what’s possible but we would work with you to
tailor activity to meet your particular goals.
A Community Venue at the Heart of Highland Perthshire
The Birks Cinema re-opened in April 2013 after the empty, dilapidated 1930s Art Deco building on Aberfeldy
town square was taken over by the community and converted into a state-of-the-art single screen cinema with
café bar and event space.
The cinema quickly became a popular social hub – open 7 days a week from 11:00am ‘til late throughout the year
- showing a wide range of film entertainment with broad appeal. The café and mezzanine level also provide
gathering places for socialising and host a variety of community activities and events.
We’re also proud to have Aberfeldy-born
Hollywood actor, Alan Cumming as an
active patron.
It’s a particularly exciting time to get involved with The Birks Cinema as we celebrate our
5th anniversary with a 5 Star season of events and community activities – including preview
screenings, high profile film presenters and even a sponsored abseil off the roof!

On Screen Be Part of the Ultimate Visual Experience
Advertising on the big screen is more accessible than
you might think!
We can show you flexible, affordable and effective
advertising options to suit your enterprise and
budget.
Why cinema?
Cinema is Scotland’s most popular venue-based
entertainment activity.
A visit to the cinema is a relatively affordable treat
with audiences in general:
 having higher disposable incomes
being pretty evenly split between men and
women
 representing all age groups
The Big Screen
Cinema gives unrivalled scale and impact in a world
where consumers are bombarded by messages across
a range of media often when they’re on the move or
distracted.
The original ‘captive audience’ - cinemagoers are
focused and ready for a viewing experience –
engaged with the on-screen spectacle.
On-screen adverts feature ahead of the film - rather
than interrupting the entertainment - when
audiences are fresh and anticipating what they’re
going to see resulting in high levels of advert recall.
The Experience
The Birks Cinema offers state-of-the-art digital
projection and surround sound to showcase your
advertisement in the 100-seat auditorium as part of
the immersive cinematic experience.

On Screen Options – Slides & Video
Both slide and video advertisement options are available
for you to make an impact on the big screen.
You can choose the images and message you wish to
display on a wall-to-wall slide. Alternatively, if you have
video material this could be converted to a 20, 30 or 60
second advertisement to play to audiences in the
auditorium.
We would welcome the chance to talk to you about what
your advertisement should include and are able to assist
in slide design or converting video for cinema standard
broadcast. We can also put you in touch with video
producers should you wish to commission a bespoke film.
Samples of both slide and video advertisements are
available to help you visualise what’s possible.
Pricing
On screen advertising can be more affordable than you
may expect. A single slide display starts from only £40 for
a one-off screening.
This flexibility means we can cater for small and larger
scale campaigns and budgets. And we can work with you
to put together a package that suits your strategy and
budget.
Bespoke Campaign
Booking a series of on screen adverts will enable you to
select a flexible mix of film types to showcase your
message across a range of audiences and target your
market. Such as before family films; during awards season;
during peak holiday times.
There is also flexibility on the length and timing of a
campaign.
Audience data also allows us to guarantee your advert is
seen by a confirmed number of cinemagoers.
An Added Bonus…!
We will also include an option to show your advertisement
on the 3 foyer café screens - visible to all venue visitors -
during the period of your campaign for no additional
charge.
