A Celebration of the Life ofLarry Palmer

Larry PalmerPATTEN - Lawrence A. (Larry) Palmer, 77, of Patten, died June 2, 2015, in Houlton. He was born Dec. 28, 1937, in Island Falls, the son of Victor and Laura (Birmingham) Palmer.

He was a member of Katahdin Lodge #98 AM and FM Patten and past member of Anah Shriners, Bangor. Larry made his living in the woods cutting wood the old fashion way, with a chain saw. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and sharing his knowledge of the local area.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Roberta (Joy) Palmer of Patten; four children, Sandra Slate of San Diego, Ca., Larry Palmer and Alta Kennedy of Bangor, Maria and Craig Webb of Cumberland and Maurice Scott Palmer and Lucy Douston of Saco; ten grandchildren, Tasha, Kent, Ashley, Thomas, Carrie, Paul, Amanda, Teague, Cassey and Madison, and their spouses; six and a half great-grandchildren; three sisters, Connie and Ed Chieppo of Ct., Jeannie and Wayne Thurlow of Winn and Debra and Tim Peters of Smyrna; two brothers, Don and Gayle Palmer of Camden and Aaron and Lana Tucker of Patten; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his dog, Sammy. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Gary and Rick; his father-in-law, Manley Joy; and a special family member, Ora Perry.
