Stormwater runo
500,000 gallons / day
Electricity generated by Cetacea powers the existing Santa Monica
Urban Runo Recycling Facility (SMURRF).
POWERING PURIFICATION
SAFEGUARDINGTHE BAY
The capture and reuse of stormwater mitigates harmful
impacts on oshore marine life. Cetacea sculptures also provide
habitat for beneficial species.
SUSTAINING THE CITY
Recycled stormwater is rendered potable through a new High Eiciency Reverse Osmosis
(HERO) system. Excess electricity enters the city power grid.
HARVESTING ENERGY
Cetacea captures, converts, and stores wind, wave, and
solar energy.
