However in learning a SECOND LANGUAGE the order changes, and that order is….

1. Reading 2. Listening3. Writing4. Speaking

The purpose of spoken communication is ESSENTIALLY LIMITIZED to

1. Suggestion2. Order3. Warning4. Education5. Motivation6. Information7. Advice

The two most important elements of verbal communication.

The TONE The BODY LANGUAGE

Whenever you communicate keep 3 things in your mind

1. Avoid irrelevant facts.2. Use Simple / Plain English3. Be Empathetic

And the most important thing is the EYE CONTACT.

What is an EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION?

How to communicate effectively?

If you want to learn to speak correct English, speak English in front of a person who knows correct English, and ALLOW that person to CORRECT you.

Face-to-face communication DOES NOT REQUIRE the knowledge of grammar.

The main problem which comes in our way of speaking English is the DESIRE to speak in correct English.

Think for a while….. do we speak correct Hindi? 

Then why to be PARTIAL towards English? 

Some Suggestions: 1. Read novels and GRADUALLY you will learn correct English. 2. Do NOT get into the THEORETICAL PRINCIPLES of grammar.  3. Read some articles related to personality development, and you will engender a SENSE of the language.

Business Correspondence

It has to be CONSERVATIVELY CONVERSATIONAL.

Some Suggestions

1. Use CORRECT grammar.2. Avoid irrelevant facts.3. Use simple English.4. Be empathetic.5. Check it & remove grammatical errors.6. Recheck it & remove grammatical errors.7. Get it checked if there are any grammatical errors.  

Give example of an official letter.

There is something SPECIAL about phrases….

Language acquisition inside & outside the classroom…

Learning English is a child’s play, if you follow these 7 principles.

Rule #1

Do not consult a dictionary JUST to see the meaning of a word.

Rule #2

Do NOT study grammar.

Learn phrases instead.

Rule #3

Watch English movies with subtitles.

Rule # 4

Write at least 5-10 sentences in English and get it checked by an English teacher.

Rule # 5

REMEMBER to REPEAT, REPEAT to REMEMBER.

Rule # 6

Read and listen to simple English everyday.

Rule # 7

Read at least one article from the net that is related to your stream.

This is the only thing which can be taught for the English for Specific Purposes.
