USACThe Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) is an independent, not-for-profit corporation designated as the administrator of the federal Universal Service Fund by the FCC.All information presented regarding USAC can be found at:

USACThe Universal Service Fund is one fund with four programs:

High Cost- ensures all consumers in all regions have comparable telecommunications rates

Low Income-Telephone discounts to over 7,000,000 low-income consumers

Rural health Care- provides reduced rates to rural health care providers for telecommunications and Internet services

• Schools & Libraries- E-rate support, provides affordable telecommunications and Internet access services to connect schools and libraries to the Internet

EligibilityDiscounts are provided to most schools and libraries in the US to obtain affordable telecommunications and internet access. Program requirements:

Technology PlanForm 470 (Competitive bid plan)Low income student populationBid within window (July 1- June 30)

1) Goals and strategy for using telecommunications and information technology to improve library services

(2) a professional development strategy to ensure that staff know how to use these new technologies to improve library services

(3) An assessment of the telecommunication services, hardware, software, and other services that will be needed to improve school services

Roosevelt’s Technology Plan

(4) A sufficient budget to acquire and maintain the hardware, software, professional development, and other services that will be needed to implement the strategy; and

(5) An evaluation process that enables the library to monitor progress toward the specified goals and make mid-course corrections in response to new developments and opportunities as they arise

We Need To Do Better!

SummaryOur STaR chart shows growth on our campus.

Our primary target area is teaching and learning which happens to be the area that most directly affects students.

Our district has provided a sound infrastructure. Through the continued support of the

administration in the form of staff development and planning time, our teaching and learning category will reach the target area of the Texas Long Range Plan and the students will reap the benefits.
