My name is Corbin.My favorite animal isa monkey, but I feltlike doing aorangutan becausewe read a book onorangutans in 3rdgrade and I wasinterested in them. Ilove to ride bike andeat pizza with theneighbors.

Who Am I

Orangutans have redbrownish hair ontheir bodies. Femalesweigh about 110pounds and a maleweighs about 200pounds. Females areabout 3 feet tall andmales are about 4feet.

Early Years

Baby orangutansstay with theirmothers until theyare 6 years old andhave babies whenthey are 10 to 12years old. Babyorangutans are balduntil they are about3 years old.

Habitat Sweet Habitat

Orangutans live inthe rainforest intrees and like tosleep in nests andwalk on theground and likeclimbing trees.

What’s on the Menu

Orangutans eatfruit,leaves,treebark ,seeds,plantbulbs,tender plantshoots,andflowers.They alsoeats smalleranimals like birds.

Making Tracks

Orangutans havefive toes just likeus and have largewide feet areabout the size ofa can of chips.

Baby orangutanscan weigh over10 pounds whenthey are born!The orangutansmain enemy isman people catchthese animals andsell them and thatis illegal.

Where in the World

Orangutans arefound in Asia in thetropical rainforestsThey live in thesoutheast of ofAsia.They sleep in athing called a nest,but not a bird nestorangutans pile upleaves in a tree andsleep in them.
