Baby It's Cold Outside! Sweatshirt? Check. Sweatpants? Check. Gloves? Check. The girls tennis team faced the challenge of an unusually cold and wintryseason. Several meets were postponed or canceled due to less-than-stellarweather. Whereas most years the girls play in just their tennis skirts and tank tops, there were quite a few tennis matches where the girls had to be all bundled upin layers of clothes to fight against the cold. Despite the chilly weather difficulties, with hard work and dedication, theteam managed to serve up some heat and ultimately accomplish a successfulseason. "We did really well this season; our team progressed a lot since the start ofthe season," said junior Jaydn Trimble, who played #1 singles. "We finishedundefeated in duals and conference. In addition, our girls worked really hardto do well at state."

Similarly to Trimble, senior Emily Koski said, "I was really impressedwith how much we improved over the season and how hard our girls workedin practice. My favorite part of the season was winning GNAC." Junior Kelsey Cooper, who has played tennis all three years of her highschool career, added, "Our team has come a long way from where we werein the beginning, and we will continue to strive for excellence as the yearsgo on." Coach Troy Saulsbury had nothing but compliments for his team whenhe said, "For us to finish as well as we did, it’s really exciting to be in thetop 10. To finish the season undefeated in duals and to win conference madethis season a success." The team put in a lot of effort in order for this season to go as well as itwent. Next year, there will be several returning girls who hope for the teamto continue to grow even stronger and for the sun to shine a little more.
