„COME, MAKE IN INDIA!“
2
I am delighted to announce the „Indo-German Investment Summit 2014“. I am confident that this conference would help facilitate the growing momentum of business cooperation between In-dia and Germany. Today, Indian economy is more open to trade and investments and increasingly integrated with global economic trends. Despite difficult global and domestic situation, it has pro-ved to be one of the fastest growing economies in the world with a growth of five per cent in 2012/13. With its resilience and inherent strength, the eco-nomy has entered in the consolidation phase and has largely maintained its momentum in 2013/14.
The Government has created an investor friendly environment through various policy measures, in-cluding liberalisation of FDI policy in most of the sectors. The key priority is to attract investments in the infrastructure sector. India and Germany are stable and reliable partners in all spheres of bilate-ral cooperation, but there is immense potential for further improvement. It is my firm belief that the event would encourage more German companies to increase their engagements with one of the fastest growing economies in the world.
