Objectives IST seminar

1. Deepen knowledge of information security

2. Develop research skills

• Independently explore new security topics

– read scientific papers

– no original research required

• Report orally and in writing

• Critically review reports by fellow students

– peer review

• Teachers:– Dr. Boris Škorić (b.skoric@tue.nl, 4870)– Dr. Nicola Zannone (n.zannone@tue.nl, 2646)

• Assignments:– 2 written essays– 1 oral presentation– peer review of essays and presentations– participation!

• Meetings– Mondays, 7th+8th hour (15:45 – 17:30)– Attending is mandatory– Tele-lectures

Two rounds. In each round:

• Always attend the classes

- Speakers come to Eindhoven!

- if you cannot attend, tell us in advance

- repeated absence may affect your grade

• Submit presentations before the lecture

• Submit the essays in time

- failure to meet deadline may affect your grade

1st essay 40%

2nd essay 40%

talk 20%
