System Overview

Flexi EDGE uses the same enclosure concept as FlexiWCDMA, the main enclosure is not waterproof each card has it’s own seals and each unused connector must have a waterproof

cover fitted.

The hardware can be rack mounted, floor mounted or pole mounted

Hardware Overview, EXDA

The EXDA is a duel Tx/Rx unit, it is also known as a DTRX or Dual TRX

It consists of

• Two separate EDGE capable trx’s• Baseband support for both trx’s

Each TRX has two RX channels as normal but TRX’s can and will be tied together, this means only the main RX connection on each TRX will be used, each TRX then

provides a diverse RX path for the paired TRX

Hardware Overview, FSEB

The FSEB box is used for extending the Flexi BTS alarm connector from12 external inputs up to 24.

Support for the fire detector is also provided.

The FSEB box provides IP55 protection.

In outdoor applications, the box can be attached to the outdoor cabinet roof.

In indoor or stacked applications, the box is attached in the proximity of the modules, for example, on a wall.

The Flexi Mounting Auxiliary Brackets (FMAA) can be used to mount the FSEB on the top or outer casings in pole, wall, and stack configurations.
