• Site report – detailed survey identifying the gaps and site requirements for the project prior to implementation.
• In-bus equipment installation guide – An installation guide detailing the locations for VMU, In-bus PIS, timer, amplifiers, speakers and battery has been identified (close coordination with drivers and other crew) and been documented for all the seven types of buses.
• Testing – A systematic testing in terms of FAT followed by field tests is in place for the VMU and PIS display boards. Prior to this, VMU, PIS and SFAT test plans (5 revisions) has been completed.
• SMS plan – Detailed SMS plan created.
• Design documents/Calculations – PIS design document, Power calculations document, communication bandwidth is in place.

Project Learning - continued
• Acquaintance with World Bank Procurement Procedures
• Identification and Construction of bus shelters in time
• Ensuring power supply at bus shelters
• Placement of PMC and M&E services in time
• Setting right expectations
• Exposure to the crew about the system in advance
• Location and designing of CCS
• Budgeting of project components should have practical
approach
• MIS report prepared with close coordination with the client by understanding
their needs and requirements
Conclusion
• Capacity Development
– The adequacy of the resources need to be understood, identified and
assigned accordingly. The skill set of resources is another major issue.
• Ground Realities
– Knowing when you are hitting a brick wall and changing direction is
important.
– Importance of Planning vs. Jugaad
• Culture Change
– The culture of “yes sir’’ needs to change.
• “Devil is in the detail”
