Marketing strategy 1: sequel

• On March 17, 2012, Sony Pictures announced that it was pursuing a sequel to the film 21 jump street , therefore will have the previous audience of the film.

Marketing 2: cast choices • CAST: Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, Ice Cube,Dave

Franco, Amber Stevens, Nick Offerman, Rob Riggle, Jillian Bell, Richard Grieco, Brad Pitt. This is a very well known cast therefore fans of these actors will watch the film to see their favourite actors on screen.

Marketing 3: Trailer and promotional pictures

• This gives the public a teasor of what will be included in the film. By releasing a trailer months before its release it allows for the audience to grow and build up anticipation for the release.

Marketing 4: Film posters Film posters are a good technique of creating anticipation for the films release. It gives the audience excitiment and a taster of what the film will entail. It tells the audience the cast that is involved such as where it says “Hill” and “Tatum” at the top of the poster to show the star actors in this film. The film poster also usually uses a persuasive statement or something that gives the film away slightly. In this case they say “they thought the streets were mean, Then they went back to high school” giving the audience an idea of what the film might be about. Film posters are put up online and spread through social networks, they can also be placed on billboards so they gain a wider audience.

The film is scheduled to be released on June 13, 2014, by Columbia Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM studios). This is a well known film company therefore people who are fans of films they have produced previously will know them for a good repuatation and want to see their new upcoming film.

• American funded. Columbia pictures is a conglomerate company therefore will fund its own production costs. This is an example of cross media convergence where columbia pictures have come together with MGM studios to gain access to bigger stars and better distribution network for their films.

How will it be exhibited and exchanged?

• It will be exhibited in the theatres/cinemas as a primary source.

• Other sources will be DVD release
