2020 Tour de Gap Time Trial

TT Route Information for Cyclist

Sunday—July 26th

Below is the 20K route for the Time Trial. The start and finish will be at the Main Street Station.

• IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO KNOW THE COURSE

• THE ROADS ARE NOT CLOSED AND IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO WATCH FOR TRAFFIC

• WE WILL HAVE COURSE MARSHALLS ON THE 4 RIGHT HAND TURNS

• IF YOU MISS A TURN OR GO OFF COURSE YOUR TIME WILL NOT BE ADJUSTED

• NO DRAFTING IS ALLOWED

• IF YOU COME UP FROM BEHIND AND ARE APPROACHING ANOTHER RIDER, ANNOUNCE THAT YOU ARE THERE BY CALLING

OUT….”ON YOUR LEFT”

• WE WILL HAVE DISTANCE MARKINGS ON THE ROAD AT 15K, 10K, 5K AND 1K FROM FINISH

Sunday July 25th– Tour de Gap 20K Time Trial

• This segment represents the first 2.5 miles of the Time Trial

• Riders will leave the start and head north through Buffalo Gap

• Once you are on the north end of Buffalo Gap there will be a shoulder to ride

on; but the shoulder is rough with chip seal

• You will turn right at Belle Plains Rd—there will be a course marshall there at

the intersection of FM89/Belle Plains Rd

Sunday July 25th– Tour de Gap 20K Time Trial

• This represents the 2nd segment— 2.5 miles

• Once you turn right on Belle Plains you will approach the first of 2 climbs—this

one is the climb on Belle Plains Rd

• The Strava Segment for this climb has an avg 3% grade with a max at 12.1%

• Once you complete the climb you will have 1.4 miles of slightly downhill before

you turn right on CR127—there will be a course marshall at the Belle Plains/

CR127

Sunday July 25th– Tour de Gap 20K Time Trial

• This represents the 3rd segment— 3.7 miles

• Once you turn right on CR127 you have a slight climb and then downhill with

some up & down risers before you turn right on CR150

• This 3.7 miles is where you can make up some time or lose some time

• As you can see it is a straight road south

Sunday July 25th– Tour de Gap 20K Time Trial

• This represents the 4th segment— 2.3 miles

• Once you turn right on CR150 you will have a slight climb and then you will be

approaching the 2nd and last hill of the 20K TT—Nuisance

• The Strava Segment for this climb has an avg 4% grade with a max at 9.8%

• Once you complete the climb you will have 1.2 miles downhill before you turn

right on CR151—there will be a course marshall at the CR150/CR151

Sunday July 25th– Tour de Gap 20K Time Trial

• This represents the last segment— 1.4 miles of the Time Trial

• Once you turn right on CR151 you will have a nice downhill run to the finish line.

• At 8/10 of mile after your turn on CR151 you will have a left hand curve and then

2/10 of mile later you will have a right hand curve to make

• The finish line is just past the last left hand curve

• You should be able to make up some time on this short downhill segment before the

finish
