PhilippeDagautistheincomingPresidentofTheCombustionInstitute.HeisalsotheResearchDirector,GroupLeaderatCNRS-INSIS,ICAREandDirectoroftheExcellenceCenterCAPRYSSES.In1986,DagautreceivedhisPh.D.fromUniversityPierre&MarieCure,Paris.In2011,hewasawardedanERC-AdvancedGrantfromtheEUtoworkonbiofuelscombustion.In2016,hereceivedtheCNRSSilverMedalandtheEgertonGoldMedal(CombustionInstitute).Dagaut’sresearchinterestsinclude:Chemicalkineticsofcombustion;oxidationofhydrocarbons,oxygenates,commercialandsyntheticfuels;formationofpollutants,e.g.,PAH,sootandsecondaryorganicaerosolsprecursors.WhileDagautcurrentlysupervisesPh.D.andMasterstudents,heisproudoftheaccomplishmentswithmorethan70formerstudentsandpostdoctorals.Aprolificscientificwriterandeditor,Dagautistheco-authorofmorethan290peer-reviewedpapers,over230communications,andseveralchaptersinscientificbooks.Dagauthasbeenamemberoftheeditorialboardsofinternationaljournals:TheInternationalJournalofChemicalKinetics,1996-1998,ProgressinEnergyandCombustionScience,since2006,CombustionandFlame,2008-2010,RecentPatentsonEngineering,since2006,FrontiersinEnergy,since2019.
