• Family=married 29 years to husband Leigh + Megan(graduate of DSHS & Rice University) + Shep(junior @ DSHS)

• Alumni= BS from The University of Texas + University of Texas Hall of Honor(Lady Longhorn volleyball & track)

• Certifications=Elementary 1-6, Reading 1-8, ELL, Gifted & Talented, Physical Education 1-12

• Taught 28 years=1st-5th grades • Coached volleyball & basketball in high school 1 year & 8

Grading

• Formative=40%Ex: daily work, observations, science labs, journals, Spelling tests

• Summative=60%Ex: end of units tests, projects, CBA’s

Language Arts= 50% Reading & 50% Language Spelling is 10% of Language

District Grading Policy

• Formative= reteach , no retest• Summative=reteach/retest + both grades

Rubrics

• Grades 1-4(1=did not meet expectation, 2=met minimal expectation, 3=met expectation, 4=exceeds expectation

• 4’s are rare• Rubrics used for scoring writing & projects

Homework

• Assignments written each day in Daily Planner & homework is circled
