The “Cutest Self-Quarantined Pet” Photo Contest Winner is…
Koko was a 15 ½ year old chocolate lab and welcomed her kitty cat buddy, Dagger, almost instantly when he was brought home. Koko and Dagger lived together for almost three months, and Dagger followed Koko around nearly everywhere, loving to play with her.
Sadly, Koko recently left the world for the Rainbow Bridge, but Dagger was right by Koko's side in her last hours.
“Koko, I think, tolerated Dagger and was very gentle with him. They almost always cuddled together,” says Coni. “I am honored to have Koko and Dagger chosen.”
Thank you to everyone who submitted such wonderful photos, and to the rest of the Alegria community who emailed their votes.
#110 Koko and Dagger cozying up “I couldn't resist taking this particular photo with Koko guarding the front door,”
says photo contest winner, Coni Groves.

Spring Spritzers
When you think of cocktails, your first thought probably isn't your immune system. The trick to creating a wellness elixir is to use simple, natural mixers, like fresh fruits and herbs, and go easy on the sugar. These
ingredients carry natural sweetness and a burst of flavor, but can also pack some serious immune-boosting properties.
BLACKBERRY CUCUMBER SKINNY MOJITO
DESCRIPTION A low-calorie, low-sugar mojito with fresh blackberries, cucumber, sparkling water and Key Lime Rum. Only 90 calories and 7 grams of sugar. If you use plain, light rum it will only have 1 gram of sugar but won’t taste as sweet.
BOTANICAL WATER COLLINS (NON-ALCOHOLIC MOCKTAIL)
1.5 oz. botanical water*
1 oz. fresh lemon juice
1 oz. simple syrup (this can be regular simple or spiced up any way you choose)
Pinch of sea salt
Sparkling water
*Botanical water: You can make a substitute for botanical water at home. Simply infuse filtered water with citrus, fresh herbs and botanicals in your fridge for at least eight hours, and then strain the solids out. This adds depth and complexity to any beverage.
In a shaker over ice, combine botanical water, lemon juice, simple syrup and salt. Shake until cold. Strain into a Collins glass over ice. Top with sparkling water. If you want to finish off your drink with a garnish, thinly slice the fruit of your choice — pear and pineapple work well — brush the sliced fruit with simple syrup and bake on the lowest setting (usually 200 F) for 2-3 hours.

Cinco de Mayo Quarantine Cuisine
Celebrate at home this year on Taco Tuesday, May 5 with this easy-to-make recipe
Green Chile Chicken Tacos
Ingredients
1 (8-ounce) boneless, skinless chicken breast
2 cloves garlic
1 fresh jalapeno
1 cup low sodium chicken broth
Water
1 can (7-ounce) diced green chiles
8 warm corn tortillas
1 small avocado, sliced
1 cup red cabbage, shredded
Fresh cilantro, to taste
Preparation
1. In a medium saucepan, add chicken, garlic, jalapeno, and broth. Add water to cover the chicken. Cover and simmer over medium-low heat until chicken is cooked through, about 20 minutes. Remove chicken and shred using two forks. Discard garlic and jalapeno, re-serving cooking liquid.
2. In a skillet, add green chiles and shredded chicken. Cook over low heat, stirring until warmed through and sauce is thickened. Add reserved cooking liquid as needed to keep the chicken moist.
3. Serve with warmed corn tortillas, avocado, cabbage, and cilantro.
Ingredient Variations and Substitutions
Use any type of tortilla that you like. Look for whole grain options, if possible.
You can also leave out the tortillas and serve the chicken on top of lettuce to make a taco salad
or with brown rice and beans to make taco bowls.
Cooking and Serving Tips
Serve tacos with a side of low-sodium canned black beans for a quick and easy meal. Add any toppings you like, such as your favorite salsa, tomatoes, or a dollop of plain Greek yogurt.

Theatre Thrills
As lockdowns continue to keep theaters dark on Broadway and beyond, arts institutions have helped
keep the ghost light burning by providing filmed versions of stage shows to audiences at home. Now
composer Andrew Lloyd Webber is pitching in as well.
The composer is offering free broadcasts of the greatest Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals,
including such megahits as
A different Lloyd Webber musical streams each week on THE SHOWS MUST GO ON!, a new YouTube channel devoted to this project. Each show goes live on the channel on Friday at
12:00pm MT and usually remains viewable for 48 hours afterward.
In addition to full-length videos, the channel streams clips and behind-the-scenes footage (The Maestro has already shared several individual songs & performed by himself at his piano).
Andrew Lloyd Webber: The Royal Albert Hall Celebration will be available on YouTube for 48 hours starting Friday, May 1 at 12:00pm MT

Theatre Thrills
Free access to five PBS Great Performances versions of major theatrical productions plus much
more is now available online!
Much Ado About Nothing: This delightful 2019 Shakespeare in the Park staging of the Bard's tart-tongued romcom stars Orange Is the New Black's radiant Danielle Brooks and an adorably goofy Grantham Coleman as two too-witty longtime enemies whose friends plot to get them together. Director Kenny Leon's all-black production is powered by strong women of color.
Present Laughter: Kevin Kline pops bon mots like bonbons as an egotistical actor in this splendid 2017 Broadway revival of Noël Coward's witty 1939 comedy, directed by Moritz Von Stuelpnagel. Kline deservedly won his third Tony Award for this performance; the marvelous party of a supporting cast includes Cobie Smulders, Kate Burton, Kristine Nielsen and Reg Rogers. Harold Prince: The Director’s Life: Few people have had as enormous an impact on Broadway history as the late Hal Prince, who produced or directed shows including West Side Story, Fiddler on the Roof, Cabaret, Company, Sweeney Todd and The Phantom of the Opera. This documentary tribute includes archival footage as well as interviews with Stephen Sondheim, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Angela Lansbury and many more. Red: John Logan’s biographical two-hander about the abstract expressionist painter Marc Rothko won a 2010 Tony Award for Best Play. The writing is a little blocky, with plenty of heavy talk about art and commerce, but Alfred Molina is excellent (as usual) as the raging artist; in this recording of the 2018 West End revival, Alfred Enoch plays Rothko’s bullied young assistant and foil (a role for which Eddie Redmayne won an Olivier and a Tony).
The Sound of Music: You know the story: Stern dad falls for governess, kids learn music, Nazis rise, sixteen goes on seventeen. Even if the smash Julie Andrews film version is one of your favorite things, you might enjoy this 2015 live U.K. broadcast of the stage version of Rodgers and Hammerstein's 1959 musical, which differs from the movie in several ways. The cast includes Kara Tointon, Julian Ovenden, and British musical-theater stalwart Maria Friedman as the Mother Abbess.
