Font Face

Font face lets you add design to your text. There are two types of font face – Serif and Sans Serif. Serif text have semi structural details on the end of the stroke of each letter. It is usually used in the body text because it is easier to read. While, Sans serif are text without the serifs at the end of the stroke of each letter and is commonly used as titles of texts

Activity

1. Open Microsoft Word. Click on Start ►All Programs ► Microsoft Office► Microsoft Word or double-click on the Microsoft Word shortcut on the desktop. This will open a blank document in Microsoft Word.

2. Before you start typing your poem, it’s best to save your work now so you’ll just hit the CTRL + S keys once you’re done. To save the document, click the Save Button.

3. Upon clicking the Save Button, the Save As Window will appear. Choose a File Destination and a File Name for your document then click Save. You can simply click CTRL + S to save your changes the next time you wish to save the document.

4. Type in your Clerihew Poem. A clerihew Poem is a four line poem where the first two line rhymes with each other and the last two lines rhymes with each other as well. The first line mentions a persons name and the second line ends with something that rhymes with that name. Clerihew poems must be funny.

5. Highlight the text that you want to change. To change the font face, highlight the text you want to edit by clicking the first word, then, without unclicking, drag the cursor until the last word of the text you want to edit.

6. Change the font face. After highlighting, choose the font face that you want. Do this step for your poem title and poem body. For the poem’s title, change the font face to Eras Bold ITC and the poem’s body to Adobe Garamond Pro Bold.

7. Save your File. After editing your poem, save your finished file by clicking CTRL + S.
