COURSE DESCRIPTIONS Learn to assess and manage critically ill children during the first hours in the emergency department. Use simulation team-based crisis resource management principles and take part in high fidelity simulation-based pediatric resuscitation scenarios and skills stations. Some core content objectives are presented in didactic style. The topics include initial assessment, PALS life support, airway emergencies, respiratory failure, shock, maltreatment, ER radiology, surgical emergencies, trauma, transport, and toxicological and metabolic emergencies.
