Proverbs 2:1- 6

He puts priority on God’s word (v. 1)

Proverbs 2:12 My son, if you receive my

He is sincerely open to what God has for him (v. 2)

Proverbs 2:22 So that you incline your

ear to wisdom,And apply your heart to

understanding;

He is a man of earnest prayer (v. 3)

Proverbs 2:3Yes, if you cry out for

discernment,And lift up your voice for

He is a man who seeks sincerely (v. 4)

1. Self-will – I do not want to God’s will because it conflicts with mine

2. Indifference – I just do not care

3. Flights of Fancy – Following my heart when my heart does not follow God

Is it Lawful?

1st Corinthians 6:9-11

9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters,
