Malaysian Society of Interventional Radiology (MYSIR) was established in 2012. MYSIR’s mission is to be the primary national body in the development of interventional and neuro-interventional radiology and to provide excellent healthcare, research and teaching to enhance the standard of medical practice in Malaysia.
MYSIR believes that continuous education and training will mitigate these challenges. Apart from educational and awareness activities, the society has also formed ties with other interventional societies around the world to foster working relationship, exchange of ideas and training opportunities.
About The Societies
The College of Radiology, Academy of Medicine of Malaysia is under the umbrella body of the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia. Their members comprises of clinical radiologists, clinical oncologists and nuclear medical physicians. It is a non-profit professional body and aims to serve patients and so-ciety by maximizing the value of radiology, clinical oncology, interventional radiology, nuclear medicine, medical physics and other allied health sciences.
The Asian-Australasian Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology (AAFITN) was founded in 1994 to promote the practice and knowledge of interventional and therapeutic neuroradiology in the Asian-Australasian region via the organization’s regional meetings. Our society holds scientific conferences every two years, with the world federation meetings happening in between. A main element of the field is neuroendovascular therapy, which is currently experiencing rapid progress with the development of techniques and devices. Our membership has also grown over the years, with a current headcount of over 400. The society’s Executive Committee is working towards making the society membership process more convenient as well as beneficial to its existing and potential members. The work that is given attention to includes improving the society’s official home page, establishing the society constitution, development of educational programs and maintaining stable working funds.
Under the capable leadership of our past presidents, the following scientific congresses were successfully organised by:-

It is of utmost importance that an individual grasps basic knowledge and understanding of appropriate strategies as well as up-to-date techniques based on current world trends. Therefore, with the timely theme “Strengthening Foundations and Exploring New Concepts”, I surely believe the 13th AAFITN meeting in 2018, organised by Dr Jeyaledchumy Mahadevan, will open the door leading us to a brighter future.
I believe we, the AAFITN, have the potential, power and strong-will to develop and expand. I would like to take this opportunity to extend the request for cooperation and sincere contributions from all the members in AAFITN, to build a better tomorrow for our society and our patients.

On behalf of the Organising Committee of the upcoming conference of the Asian-Australasian Federation of Interventional Neuroradiology (AAFITN), I would like to invite all of you to join us for the 13th AAFITN 2018 meeting which is going to be held in Malaysia.
Neuroendovascular therapies are increasingly performed in our region, with great demand due to our large population as well as the support garnered from many young neuro-interventionists. Despite the treatment method receiving generous funding and having a large base, there is a lack of documented case series and clinical reports in a regional context being produced for continued medical education. With the less established clinical research system and delay in approval of new treatments and devices, we tend to refer to clinical experiences documented in the West. In addition, the insufficient number and poor distribution of neuroendovascular therapists in developing countries may be cause for the lack of opportunity for patients to undergo less invasive therapies like this.
Despite the differences in governmental, economic, religious and ethical standpoints that create barriers, we in the field

910th Alumni Meeting 2018 of International Masters of Neurovascular Diseases (MSc) & Pierre Lasjaunais Neurovascular Education Team (PLANET)
13th Asian-Australasian Federation of Interventional & Therapeutic Neuroradiology (AAFITN) 2018in conjunction with Malaysian Society of Interventional Radiology (MYSIR) 2018 & Malaysian Congress of Radiology (MCOR) 2018
Why Sponsor?
AAFITN 2018 will bring together experts in the medical and healthcare industry from around the world.
Sponsorship of the conference provides an excellent opportunity to:-• Receive focused recognition of your contribution• Promote your organisation and your products to delegates ranging from clinicians and researchers to public health
practitioners and policy makers• Maintain a high profile within the healthcare sector internationally• Increase brand awareness• Network and build new relationships with key figures in the medical profession• The opportunity to promote your name, to support your brands and to maintain a high profile among decision-makers
before, during and after the event• The delegates are keen to improve their scientific knowledge and skills. Aligning your company with this powerful
educational experience demonstrates your commitment to assisting their professional development• An opportunity to consolidate corporate and community relationships and expose your staff to their key markets• Interact with delegates face to face during the morning tea breaks, afternoon tea breaks and lunch times• Benefit significantly from exposure to a keenly interested, relevant and above all, influential audience in an educational
environment away from the competition of everyday distractions• Provide a unique educational enviroment dedicated to the exchange of leading edge scientific research, training and
industry expertise.
The aim of the trade exhibit is to expose delegates to the latest technologies, therapies and evidence and to challenge their current thinking and practice.
Your representatives will have the opportunity to network with delegates to improve their knowledge and understanding of your services in an environment where they are open to listening and learning.
There are opportunities to tailor the sponsorship packages to meet your specific requirements and early confirmation of sponsorship will ensure the highest level of exposure for your organisation.
For more information on the Sponsorship and Commercial opportunities, please contact Dee Dee Quah or Chloe Lai, Conference Secretariat at office number (603)22420902 or email to secretariat@aafitn2018malaysia.com.

Kota Kinabalu is the capital of Malaysia’s Sabah state in the northern part of the island of Borneo. It is strategically located with many flights access from various Asia Pacific cities. Kota Kinabalu International Airport is Malaysia’s second busiest airport.
Kota Kinabalu is a popular venue for conferences as it boasts friendly Sabahans with great hospitality and a unique mesh of rich local culture and cuisine. It is a safe city that is protected by Mount Kinabalu, a Unesco Heritage site and Borneo’s tropical rainforests, one of the oldest in the world. Climbing Mount Kinabalu is a popular “bucket list” for many individuals and we anticipate many delegates will be making this a part of their AAFITN 2018 pre or post-conference adventure.
See you in Sabah, the land below the wind.
