Ref Name and Description55 F3 Park Hill An imposing city landmark - the largest Listed structure in Europe and one of the world’s foremost examples of brutalist architecture, recently regenerated by Urban Splash. 56 D4 Peace Gardens Beautiful award winning public space, located next to Sheffield Town Hall, with lawn, fountains, cascades and water features. Close to Millennium Square and the Winter Garden. 57 D3 Sheffield Cathedral Also known as the Cathedral Church of St Peter and St Paul. One of five Grade I listed buildings in the city, some bits of the church date back to the 13th century. 58 D4 Sheffield Legends Walk of fame with plaques honouring famous people from the city such as Sean Bean, Jarvis Cocker, Helen Sharman and Michael Palin. Located outside Sheffield Town Hall. 59 F4 South Street Park Landscaped park, including an amphitheatre carved into the hillside. Accessible from the back of the train Station, linking access to Park Hill and the Cholera monument.60 F2 Victoria Quays A large canal basin, originally constructed in 1816 as the terminus of the Sheffield and Tinsley Canal. 61 D4 Winter Garden One of Sheffield’s most iconic landmarks and Europe’s largest urban glass house. Home to over 2,500 plants from around the world, creating a tropical oasis in the heart of the city.
62 C3 Women of Steel statue Women of Steel is an iconic bronze sculpture that commemorates the women of Sheffield who worked in the city's steel industry during World War I and World War II.

Heritage Sites
1 G5 Abbeydale Hamlet A unique eighteenth century
industrial works, once a producer of agricultural tools and the largest water-powered industrial site on the River Sheaf. It is now a group of Grade I and Grade II listed buildings and a Scheduled Ancient Monument. Tel. 0114 272 2106.
2 H5 Beauchief Abbey Beautiful, medieval monastic house
now serving as a parish church.
3 H4 Bishops’ House The best surviving and most
charming example of a timber framed house in the city, open to the public each Saturday and Sunday and located in Meersbrook Park. Tel. 0114 255 7701.
4 H3 Kelham Island Museum The museum stands on a man-made
island over 900 years old, in one of the city’s oldest industrial districts and tells the city's fascinating industrial story with interactive galleries and imaginative installations. Tel. 0114 272 2106.
5 H3 National Emergency Services Museum
Located in one of Yorkshires first purpose built combined Police, Fire and Ambulance Stations, the museum is the world’s largest joint 999 museum showing an insight into all of our Emergency Services through hands-on learning. Tel. 0114 249 1999.
6 I3 Sheffield Manor Lodge Once a fine Tudor Manor, the Turret
House and grounds at Sheffield Manor Lodge are now a great heritage attraction for families and history-lovers alike. Tel. 0114 276 2828.
7 G4 Shepherd Wheel Set in the picturesque valley of the
Porter Brook, Shepherd Wheel was one of many small water-powered grinding workshops along Sheffield's rivers and is the earliest complete example of this industry, dating back to the 1500s. Tel. 0114 272 2106.
8 G3 Weston Park Museum An award-winning, family-friendly
museum showcasing Sheffield’s story from its geological roots to the people, politics and music that shaped the modern city. Tel. 0114 278 2600.
Parks and Green Spaces 29 G3 Crookes Valley Park An attractive municipal park with children’s playground and bowling green set around a
large lake. Adjoins to Weston Park. 30 G4 Endcliffe Park One of Sheffield’s most popular parks, with children’s play area, parkour course, cafe and
pleasant woodland. Follow the river through the park and onwards to the Peak District.31 G5 Ecclesall Woods The largest ancient woodland in South Yorkshire, covering 142 hectares and home of the
J G Graves Woodland Discovery Centre. 32 I1 Firth Park Public park in the North of the city offering pleasant open and wooded areas. Facilities
include café, children’s playground, football and cricket pitches. 33 H5 Graves Park The city’s biggest park the biggest, incorporating an animal farm, woodland, lakes, and
expansive grassed areas where you can play games, have a picnic or soak up views.34 G2 Hillsborough Park Large parkland created in 1897, originally connected to Hillsborough Hall, which is now a
library. Features a fishing lake, bowling green, walled-garden and playground.35 H4 Meersbrook Park Set on a steep hillside, offering one of the best perspectives of the city. Also home to a
walled-garden, Meersbrook Hall and one of the oldest buildings in Sheffield, Bishops’ House.
36 G5 Millhouses Park Award winning parkland, with a large play park, water play, boating lake, skate park,
riverside walk, tennis courts, putting and bowling.37 I3 Norfolk Heritage Park Once part of the Duke of Norfolk’s deer park associated with the nearby Sheffield Manor
lodge. This impressive suburban park offers great views of the city.38 G2 Rivelin Valley Waterfalls, dams and other remnants of Sheffield's steel and cutlery industry dot
woodland walking routes. Rivelin Park Cafe sits at the gateway to this beautiful area, reclaimed by nature.
39 L6 Rother Valley Country Park On the site of what once was a quarry now stands 750 acres of parkland and 170 acres
of open water. The park offers a host of outdoor activities and water sports.40 G3 Sheffield Botanical Gardens One of the city’s real treasures listed by English Heritage as a Grade II site of special
historic and architectural interest. Landscaped gardens home to over 5,000 species of plants, complete with glass pavilions, fountains and even a bear pit.
41 H3 Sheffield General Cemetery A Grade II listed Landscape on the English Heritage National Register of Historic Parks and Gardens and a local nature reserve rich in wildlife. 42 G3 Weston Park The first municipal park in the city and originally the gardens attached to the Weston Hall which is now Weston Park Museum. Highlights include the glorious restored bandstand.
9 H4 Abbeydale Picture House The iconic centre-piece of the
Antiques Quarter district, this stunning Grade II listed cinema is enjoying a revival nearly 100 years after opening in 1920.
10 H3 Bramall Lane Stadium The home of Sheffield United FC
and the oldest major stadium in the world still to be hosting professional association football matches.
11 H4 Climbing Works The Climbing Works is a bouldering
centre spread over two buildings that provides climbing opportunities for young and old, beginner to elite, in a World class facility.
12 L5 Crystal Peaks Shopping centre and retail park.13 G4 Ecclesall Road & Sharrow Vale Bustling stretch of restaurants,
coffee house, pubs, bars and shops with ease of access to Sheffield’s stunning Botanical Gardens, beautiful Endcliffe Park and the atmospheric Sheffield General Cemetery gardens.
14 I2 English Institute of Sport, Sheffield
Specialist sports venue home to the UK Sport's, science medicine and technology arm and the team behind many of Great Britain’s most successful Olympic and Paralympic sports.
15 J2 FlyDSA Sheffield Arena Entertainment venue, hosting
concerts and shows by some of the world’s biggest acts. Also home to the Steelers ice hockey team.
16 H2 Foundry Climbing One of the first indoor climbing walls
in the world, The Foundry set the standards for hundreds of others and is still well renowned amongst the most expert of climbers.
