Abstract:Various displays are becoming available for
implementing a new kind of human computer interaction
(HCI) method. Among many types and models, touch
panel displays have been used in wide variety of
applications and are proven to be a useful interface
infrastructure. In spite of their popularity, there are some
weak points. The most serious drawback is their hardness
to operate especially for the weak users in information
technology such as the elderly and blind users.

Touch panel interface is becoming a popular technology in many field.
It has been used in specific applicationsystems such as ATMs (automated teller machines),museum displays, and ticketing counters in airports and stations for a while.
Haptic touch screen is becoming a popular interfacetechnology in mobile information terminals such as PDAsand cell-phones . The operational interface used in themobile terminals is mainly inherited from GUI interfaceoriginally designed for personal computers.
Touch screen terminals with the tactile feedback haveefficiency as assistive information devices. designed a method enabling blind users to input text via thekeypad of a mobile phone
EVM – Technology Features
Centres around state-of-the-art microprocessor with built-in PROM storing the software code which cannot be retrieved or altered
Reliable, robust and error free software
Legacy software with machine codes used to preserve integrity and security
Double redundant resilient memory storage for securely retaining data without a need for a backup battery
User friendly operation sequence
Portable and easy to operate
Although the haptic technology is becoming animportant building block for implementing effective andeasy-to-use interface, acquiring the state of principalmodality along with audio-visual interface seems distant.A reason preventing the popularization of the haptictechnology is that practical haptic applications are notclearly defined
In electronic map systems, the hapticsensation helpsthe users for grasping 2D information in threedimensions.

Advantages
Modernises the election process
User friendly – can be used even by illiterates
Simple to operate and can be installed in a short time
Preserves voting secrecy
No scope for invalid votes
Facilitates quick and accurate counting – possible to declare results instantaneously
Re-usable by simply erasing votes recorded in earlier poll
Advantages
Huge expenditure involved in printing, storing and transportation and security of ballot paper can be avoided
Lowers operating costs
Easier to manage with less demand on man-power
Provision can be made to connect to a “CENTRAL STATION” to consolidate and display / record the results countrywide
Conclusion-We proposed an approach for effectively sharingdifferent types of haptic devices and designing varioushaptic applications. We exemplified our approach throughthe design and development of an electronic voting system. The system uses an easy-to-use touch panel display withembedded tactile feedback function. It allows the weak ininformation technology such as the elderly and blind usersto easily confirm, select, and vote their supportingcandidates without any assistance. We conducted apreliminary experiment for verifying whether the systemcan generate tactile effect vocabulary effective fordiscriminating multiple candidates only through touchsensations. Although our project is at an early stage, theresult is promising.
